However, I got a system hang (freeze, no BSOD) and I had to do a hard restart while working in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 when I was trying to grab video off of a CF card mounted in the card reader. I uninstalled it, scanned for new hardware, and it came back up and seemed to work normally.

Long hang at post code 58 and then in Windows, one of the two Renasas USB3.0 devices had an exclamation point. I restarted the computer again with the card reader plugged in and was back to the same issues. I then plugged in the card reader and had no issues using it. I got into Windows and there were no issues in device manager. It posted right past code 58 and continued on. Someone else had mentioned a 30-45 second delay on this post code which I was also experiencing. my BIOS screen (Intel Logo) didn't hang at post code 58. I followed his advice and then restarted the computer with the card reader unplugged.įirst difference. Lastly, he had me run the utility for the USB3.0 configuration (don't remember the name off the top of my head and am working on a different comp right now so I can't pull it up) and select to disable power management.

He then emailed me drivers for the Renasas controller that he said he knows to be stable. He did suggest that I try unplugging the card reader and uninstalling the Renasas drivers from the Add/Remove programs area which I did. He said that the only known issues are with people who are simultaneously running system processes from Acronis or Marvell (RAID, I assume). He told me that they are not having any issues with their product in conjunction with the Renasas controller. I was immediately connected with their tech support and spoke with a very knowledgeable and helpful employee. I ended up calling the manufacturer of the AFT card readers as several of us are using their product. did some work on trying to figure this issue out today.
